ACPA's Pan African Network (PAN) is pleased to present the Sankofa Speaks Series, a series of online educational events focused on a community outreach and civic engagement topic relevant to the field. Each session is intended to engage PAN and ACPA members and guests in a unique learning experience and community-based discussion about that topic. 7 September 2024 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Eastern | Incarcerat[ED]: College Behind Bars Documentary and Discussion

During this virtual event, participants will watch the documentary College Behind Bars (PBS) about individuals earning college degrees while incarcerated, followed by a moderated group discussion. This educational session will be co-hosted by Kwynn Townsend Riley (she/her/hers) and Avian Wilkins (she/her/hers), Co-Chairs of Community Outreach & Civic Engagement, Pan African Network (PAN).

14 September 2024 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Eastern | Voter Education and Engagement

Join us for an empowering session focused on voter education and engagement, which will give participants an understanding of the importance of voter education and the essential role of voter registration in our communities. This educational session will feature guest speaker LaShandra Little, Voter Education and Outreach Manager for the Fulton County Office of Registration and Elections in Atlanta, Georgia. LaShandra has over 20 years of experience in higher education, non-profit, municipal government, and campaign organizations. Since coming to Fulton County, LaShandra has helped implement a Comprehensive Voter Education and Outreach program to encourage education and engagement for all elections.

This round table discussion will explore the nuances between activism and organizing within professional environments. During this virtual event, experts and participants will share insights on the challenges, strategies, and impact of workplace activism. Join us as we learn how to navigate and implement change in our organizations, special thanks to our round table panelists:
